Junior Residential Academy Overview

JUNIOR RESIDENTIAL ACADEMY OVERVIEW

This brand NEW Residential Camp based at Kimball Union Academy offers a very unique opportunity for youth players to develop their skills in a challenging and fun environment. Residential soccer camps, based at Dartmouth have been active for more than 16 years and due to the demand we have introduced a residential camp that caters for the younger Soccer enthusiast. As with our Dartmouth camps, our coaching staff will include current Dartmouth players and coaches from around the United States and the world! We believe that a residential soccer camp experience should be about development through quality coaching, great facilities and a fun but stimulating curriculum. Players will benefit from a positive, enjoyable experience and should go away from our camp session a better player and excited about the world's greatest game!

Under the direction of Angie Hind and Jeff Cook, the women's and men's soccer coaches at Dartmouth College, the residential sessions are designed to allow players to improve their individual skills as well as their understanding of the tactical aspects of the game of soccer.

The two areas distinguishing the Soccer Academies, Inc. are the design of the curriculum and the quality of the professional coaches that are employed at the camps. During each session the boys and girls are divided into teams of 12-16 players. Each team is led through training sessions and games by a head coach and at least one counselor who is typically a member of the men's or women's team at Dartmouth. The entire Dartmouth soccer coaching staff are on the fields for all camp activities and lead demonstrations by the college players of various techniques and tactical overviews for each session. For goalkeepers, a specialized goalkeeper coach works directly with their group and provides specific tuition regarding this specific position on the field.

Our coaching staff is unrivalled at any camp across the United States. Most of the coaches have been working with us for several years and have vast and diverse experience in the game of soccer. A sample of the coaches that have previously coached at this camp are:

* Scott Davidson - Youth Team Coach, Tranmere Rovers

* David Aston - Youth Team Coach, Dublin Ireland * Neil Orr - Youth Development Officer, Scottish Football Association

* Mary McVeigh - Lehigh University Assistant Women's Coach, former Dartmouth captain

* Erin Iwaskiewicz - Bucknell University Assistant Women's Coach

* Mark Ruest - Director of Coaching, New Hampshire Soccer Association

* Chris Cheney - Former Dartmouth and Harvard Men's Assistant Coach, currently Kimball Union Academy boys coach

Players come from around the United States as well as from several different countries to attend the Soccer Academies. Boys and girls are welcome to attend our camp as individuals or in teams.

All camp activities are held on the campus of Kimball Union Academy. Campers reside in supervised dormitories for the length of the sessions. Certified athletic trainers are in residence at all camps to care for the players both on and off the field.
