Day Camp Academy Overview

The main emphasis of this week long day camp program is player development. Through quality coaching and an age specific curriculum, the emphasis will be on developing skills fundamental to the game of soccer in a fun and stimulating environment. Camp is co-ed and participants will be divided into appropriate groups relating to age and /or ability level. A progressive curriculum has been devised that will provide a week packed full of soccer specific activities aimed at developing basic skills such as dribbling, passing, finishing, as well as the opportunity for goalkeeper specific training all coached in a fun and challenging environment.

We strongly believe small sided games best encourage young players to apply skills they learn throughout the camp. The daily schedule will regularly include numerous small sided game opportunities. For example 4v4, 7v7, etc.

Each of theses day camps are directed and staffed by members of the Dartmouth men's and women's coaching staff. Our coaching staff features numerous coaches who have been working with us for several years, and have vast and diverse experience in the game of soccer. A sample of the coaches that have previously coached at this camp are:

* Neil Orr - Youth Development Officer, Scottish Football Association

* Erin Iwaskiewicz - Bucknell University Assistant Women's Coach

* Chris Cheney - Former Dartmouth and Harvard Men's Assistant Coach, currently Kimball Union Academy boys coach

All camp activities are held at Sachem fields. Certified athletic trainers will be present at all times to care for the players.

9:30 am TECHNIQUE DEVELOPMENT
10:15 am SNACK BREAK
10:30 am GROUP PLAY
11:15 am SMALL-SIDED GAMES
12:00 pm END
